Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samsul Haimi Dahlan received his Bachelor of Electronics, Electrical and System Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 1999, the Master of Engineering in Electrical-Electronics and Telecommunication from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2005, and PhD degree in Signal Processing and Telecommunication Engineering from Universite’ de Rennes1, France in 2012. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). Since 2014 he has been appointed as a principal researcher in the Center of Excellence for Applied Electromagnetic (EMCenter), and part of the responsibilities is to manage and commercialize services for the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) area. The EMC laboratory in UTHM is the only EMC facility in public university in Malaysia which is accredited with MS ISO 17025. Prior to join UTHM, he has several years of working experience in industry. He worked as an engineer for Intel Technology Sdn Bhd, conducting studies and propose best practices to avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD) issues in production line. He then joined Seagate Industries (M) Sdn Bhd as electrical test engineer, working on evaluating the electrical performances of the magnetic head from wafer to slider (read/write head) level. Apart from being and academician, he is also actively involved in commercialization activities. He is the recipient of 2017 Leaders in Innovation Fellowship from the Royal Academy of Engineering U.K. Upon receiving the training from the academy, he co-found a company called RFEMC CENTER MALAYSIA SDN BHD in 2020, a UTHM spin-off company that offer commercial services for RF and EMC related testing, troubleshooting and design. He is a big fan of JDT football club
RF Station Sdn. Bhd
Dr. Ding is the Technical Manager at RF Station Sdn. Bhd. and he has joined RF Station Sdn. Bhd. since 2014. He is involved in pre-sales engagement, post-sales technical support, design and consultation for various high-tech industries and providing training for SIMULIA EMAG (Electromagnetic) Portfolio. He also involves in the project management of consulting projects and providing one-stop engineering solutions. He is experienced in various industries, including high-tech, life science, manufacturing and automotive. His main applications include antenna, Electromagnetic Compatibility/Interference (EMC/EMI), signal integrity/power integrity (SI/PI), measurement system, and mmWave total solutions for 5G and satellite communications. He is also certified SIMULIA Technical Support Specialist for EMAG Portfolio (CST). Ding obtained his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn (UTHM) in 2021 whilst working. He also gotten First Class Honours BEng degrees in Automation and Control from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2012.
